Spektrum dx8 forward programming

Isn't that Spektrum forward programming from the newer TXes? Its a AS3X Gains menu, not telemetry FlightLog! That feature would even not be supported on older Spektrum transmitters (e.g DX8) if there is no AS3x firmware update. That AS3x menu looks different than the gains tweaking on 200SRX and 180CFX with the telemetry menue and FlightLog. In my humble opinion the Spektrum "programmable" rx are far too much trouble. First off, I paid nearly $30 more for the Spektrum only to find out I needed another $22 programming cable to make it work. On top of that, I could not make it work.
